Toni Braxton, the acclaimed "He Wasn't Man Enough" singer, recently experienced an unexpected personal emergency that led to her premature exit from a concert. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 22, during the New Edition Way Tour stop in Minneapolis at the Target Center.

Braxton, 58, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, March 23, to address the situation, expressing deep apologies to her fans for not being able to finish her performance. She stated that the personal emergency left her with no choice but to step away from the stage.

The tour typically features Braxton performing a nine-song set. It remains unclear what portion of her Minneapolis performance was ultimately omitted. Braxton has been candid about the difficulties of touring while managing her health, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and her 2022 emergency heart surgery.

In preparation for her 2024 Las Vegas residency, Braxton shared with PEOPLE her anxieties surrounding her health and performing. She emphasized the importance of pacing herself and recognizing when to take breaks, acknowledging that managing stress and overexertion can be challenging, especially given her past medical scares. She also mentioned efforts to maintain a disciplined, albeit not always perfect, diet while on the road.
