Crystal Dynamics: Survivor Trilogy Is Lara's Past

Crystal Dynamics has revealed that the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis shares narrative and gameplay connections with the recent Survivor trilogy. According to game director Raul Siqueira, the Survivor games chronicle Lara Croft's formative years and past experiences.

These past events have significantly influenced Lara's development, equipping her with the confidence and skills she possesses in "her prime" within Legacy of Atlantis. Siqueira noted that lessons learned from the Survivor trilogy are integral to the new game's narrative and even inspired certain gameplay mechanics, such as intense cinematic moments.

Jeff Adams, experience director, elaborated that while the Survivor trilogy forms Lara's past, the protagonist in Legacy of Atlantis is now unfettered by it. The game is scheduled for release on February 27, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
