Holland, Qualley, Carpenter Dance into Astaire Biopic

Tom Holland is preparing to portray the legendary Fred Astaire in an upcoming Sony biopic. The film's director, Paul King, expressed his excitement for the project, which will delve into the lives of Fred Astaire and his original dance partner and sister, Adele Astaire. Margaret Qualley has been cast as Adele, while Sabrina Carpenter will portray Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire's most famous co-star.

King, who also co-wrote the script, aims to highlight both Fred's renowned film legacy and Adele's work, which has been largely lost to history. Holland, who has been attached to the role for five years, is committed to performing all the dance sequences himself, drawing on his background from "Billy Elliot the Musical." The production is supported by Fred Astaire's daughter, Ava Astaire McKenzie, and grandson, Tyler McKenzie, who serve as consultants.
