Tom Felton Reprises Draco Malfoy Role in Broadway's Cursed Child

In a highly anticipated move, Tom Felton, 38, is returning to the Wizarding World as he takes on the role of Draco Malfoy in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The play, which picks up 19 years after the events of the Deathly Hallows, follows the next generation of wizards as they navigate the latest Hogwarts mystery.

Felton's limited 26-week engagement in the play began on November 11 and is currently scheduled to run through May 10, 2026. This marks the first time an actor from the original Harry Potter film franchise has appeared in the hit stage show. Felton, who last portrayed the character in the 2011 film, has expressed his excitement at the opportunity, stating that he "never saw [himself] having blonde hair again and reprising that role."

The actor has also received valuable advice from his former co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, a Tony Award winner and longtime Broadway veteran. Radcliffe has been "holding [Felton's] hand and certainly helping him through all the things that are hard to learn" about the transition to the stage.

Joining Felton on stage are John Skelley and Emmet Smith, who will be taking on the roles of Harry Potter and Albus Potter, respectively, after originating these parts in the North American touring production. The Cursed Child play, which was originally told in two parts, has been retooled as a one-part show since Broadway's reopening following the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown.
