Cruise's Penthouse: Unpaid Bills Spark Lien Woes

Summary
- Tom Cruise reportedly owes contractors $770,000 for renovations.
- An unresolved painting lien for nearly $45,000 remains outstanding.
- Unpaid debts could complicate future sale of the Florida penthouse.

Tom Cruise is reportedly facing lingering financial issues concerning his Clearwater, Florida, penthouse, with contractors owed a substantial sum.
It is understood that the Hollywood star owes approximately $770,000 to various contractors who worked on his luxury property. Cruise purchased the $9.58 million penthouse in 2017 and reportedly invested an additional $3 million in custom renovations and high-end fixtures.
Despite the extensive upgrades, several companies were compelled to file liens to secure payment for services rendered. This includes Mortensen Woodwork Inc. and Craftsmanship Installations Inc., among others, who were owed hundreds of thousands of dollars upon completion of their work.
Currently, one lien from Five Arrows Inc. for a painting job completed in January 2021 remains unresolved. The actor allegedly still owes $44,240 for this service, with the lien still active as of March 2026.
An expert suggests that the outstanding debt, particularly the painting lien, could create complications for Cruise if he decides to sell the apartment in the future, as such liens can potentially force a sale of the property to ensure payment to vendors.
