Man Storms 'TODAY' Show Set, Confronts Craig Melvin

Andrew Truelove, the individual accused of breaching security at 30 Rock and confronting Craig Melvin on the "TODAY" show, was seen being escorted from an NYPD precinct on Thursday. The incident occurred earlier that morning when Truelove allegedly entered the building from the "TODAY" plaza and proceeded to a restricted backstage area.
Law enforcement sources reported that Truelove, unable to find Al Roker, turned his attention to Craig Melvin and allegedly lunged at him while uttering racial slurs. Staff and security quickly intervened and detained the man, leading to his arrest by the police.
Truelove has been booked on charges including hate crime burglary, hate crime menacing, hate crime criminal trespass, and harassment. The disruption happened around 9 AM ET. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the encounter.
Both Craig Melvin and Al Roker returned to the air approximately 15 minutes after the incident, without addressing the security breach. Investigators were later seen examining the premises to understand how the intruder managed to gain access so deeply into the NBC building undetected.
