Paramount and Mattel have announced a major collaboration that will revitalize the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. This partnership is set to commence in 2027, aligning with the release of the animated feature sequel, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2." A new, untitled live-action/CG animation hybrid film is also slated for release in 2028.
The comprehensive deal will encompass a wide array of products, including action figures, playsets, accessories, vehicles, games, collectibles, and role-play items, available through various retailers. This initiative signifies a new era for the franchise, which originated as a comic book in 1984.
Roberto Stanichi, EVP and Chief Global Brand Officer at Mattel, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the Turtles' enduring appeal and ability to evolve. Josh Silverman, President of Global Products and Experiences at Paramount, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the value of expanding fan interaction and celebrating the iconic characters.
