National Geographic has acquired the rights to broadcast the BBC docu-drama "Titanic Sinks Tonight," which details the final hours of the infamous 1912 maritime disaster. The series employs advanced virtual production technology to reconstruct the events in real-time, offering a detailed account of the sinking from the moment the ship struck the iceberg to its submersion.
"Titanic Sinks Tonight" has achieved significant viewership, becoming the BBC's most-watched documentary of the 2025-26 season to date. Its international appeal is underscored by recent sales, with MGM+ acquiring broadcast rights across multiple European countries including Germany, Italy, and Spain.
Further distribution deals have secured the series for audiences in Latin America via HBO Max, and for the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye through BeIN.
