Tiny Habits, the indie folk-pop trio, emerged from a serendipitous meeting in a Berklee College dorm room in the spring of 2021. Cinya Khan, Judah Mayowa, and Maya Rae initially connected via Instagram, forming their bond through shared musical aspirations during the pandemic. Their first collaboration, a cover of Kacey Musgraves' "Happy & Sad," quickly gained traction online.
Their debut album, "All For Something," released in May 2024, showcased their intimate folk-pop sound. This success was followed by opening tour slots for artists like Gracie Abrams, James Taylor, and Noah Kahan, exposing them to wider audiences.
The band's sophomore album, "Keepers," released now, marks a significant departure. It delves into the more intricate facets of relationships, including desire, guilt, and freedom, moving beyond purely romantic themes. This evolution reflects their personal growth and a desire to share more profound narratives.
"Keepers" was recorded across Los Angeles and New York, with production input from figures like Benjamin Millman and Philip Weinrobe, who emphasized capturing the essence of emotion. Matty Healy of The 1975 also contributed to the track "Anything He Was." The band is set to embark on a 25-city North American tour, "The Keepers Tour," to support the new album.
Throughout their journey, the core of Tiny Habits remains their strong friendship. They credit their enduring connection for navigating the pressures of the music industry and maintaining their authentic artistic voice, a sentiment echoed by advice from the late David Crosby.
