David B. Weaver, operating under the moniker Davey B. Gravey, presents a unique cinematic venture known as Tiny Cinema. This solar-powered trailer transforms into an intimate movie theater, accommodating just four guests per screening. The experience, which began over a decade ago in Colorado, offers a personalized and magical escape from conventional movie-going.
Weaver, a film school graduate, draws inspiration from Super 8 filmmaking's aesthetic and immersive qualities. Tiny Cinema showcases his short films, often accompanied by live musical scores, creating a captivating, quasi-theatrical event. The project has found a regular home in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, on Saturday nights.
Currently, Weaver is in the process of fundraising for his most ambitious film to date, titled "HELLCAT." This upcoming short aims to achieve a substantial $50,000 budget and will feature practical car stunts captured across multiple Super 8 cameras, pushing the boundaries of his signature micro-cinema concept.
