Summary
- Pophouse Entertainment acquired Tina Turner's name and likeness.
- Majority share of music catalog rights secured from BMG.
- Company aims to honor Turner's visual presence and energy.

Pophouse Entertainment, a Swedish company co-founded by ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus, announced on March 19, 2026, that it has acquired the name, image, and likeness rights of the late Tina Turner. Additionally, Pophouse secured the majority share of her music catalog from BMG.
CEO Jessica Koravos stated that the acquisition was driven by Turner's "incredible visual presence and such an incredible stage energy." Pophouse intends to develop projects that capture and recreate these elements, aiming to "consolidate her legacy" and place her among cultural icons like Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. Specific plans and whether a digital avatar is forthcoming will be announced within the next six months.
The deal was initiated after Turner's passing in 2023. While BMG retains a portion of the catalog, Turner's estate was kept informed and involved in the discussions. This move follows Pophouse's recent acquisitions, including Kiss's intellectual property and a partnership with Cyndi Lauper, underscoring their focus on unique artist properties and multimedia projects rather than sheer volume.
