Nicole Flender, mother of actor Timothée Chalamet, recently spoke about her son's surprising high school alter ego, "Lil Timmy Tim." During an interview at the American Ballet Theatre's Spring Gala on May 20, Flender shared that Chalamet was a "rap artist" in high school.
The persona gained wider recognition following a viral video from 2012, showing a young Chalamet rapping at his alma mater, New York's LaGuardia High School. Flender previously told Business Insider in May 2025 that the "Lil Timmy Tim" persona was widely popular, stating, "Everybody loved it."
While Chalamet has since focused on his acting career, he has continued to occasionally display his rap skills. These instances include various "Saturday Night Live" skits and a recent remix of the song "4Raws" with EsDeeKid, which promoted his 2025 Oscar-nominated film, "Marty Supreme."
Flender emphasized her son's independent spirit, noting he pursued his own interests rather than traditional activities like ballet, which his sister took. She expressed unwavering support for her children, stating her primary wish is for them to be happy, regardless of their career achievements. She celebrated his Critics' Choice win for "Marty Supreme" in January.
