Donyelle Jones, a standout from Season 2, died at the age of 46 following a courageous fight against stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Tragedy also struck the So You Think You Can Dance family with the death of Season 4 winner Joshua Allen, who was just 36. Allen, a Texas native, tragically lost his life after being struck by a train on September 30, 2025. His post-show career included roles in 'Step Up 3D' and 'Footloose.'
Choreographer Dave Scott, a significant creative force on SYTYCD from its third season onward and a key figure in films like 'You Got Served,' also passed away on June 16, 2025. His contributions, along with those of fellow SYTYCD competitors like Stephen 'tWitch' Boss and Danny Tidwell who also died, are deeply missed.
