Author Thalita Rebouças: TV Series Debut at 40+

Brazilian author Thalita Rebouças, known for successful screen adaptations of her novels, has ventured into television with her original series, "Single Together," for Globoplay. This marks her first foray into the medium after a 25-year career focused on literature and film.

The series, "Single Together," highlights the friendship of four women over 40 who bond after experiencing romantic breakups later in life. Starring prominent Brazilian actors, the show was developed by Rebouças, who drew inspiration from her personal journey through separation and the supportive friendships she found.

Rebouças stated her long-held desire to create a series, driven by her passion as a viewer. She views "Single Together" as a public service, openly addressing often-unspoken aspects of female aging and relationships with humor and tenderness, aiming to foster self-acceptance.

The author emphasizes the scarcity of well-developed characters over 40 on Brazilian television, arguing that maturity offers a unique period of freedom and fulfillment, not an end. She believes this focus on an underserved demographic gives "Single Together" significant international appeal, as breakups and midlife insecurities are universal experiences.

Globoplay and production company Conspiração Filmes are credited as key partners in realizing Rebouças's vision for the series. "Single Together" is set to be presented at Series Mania, showcasing Globoplay's commitment to premium original content and its success in adapting popular literature for the screen.
