- Her cancer battle led to a deeper understanding of life's priorities.

Teddi Mellencamp, a "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum, has found a renewed appreciation for life and a closer bond with her father following her stage 4 cancer diagnosis. The 44-year-old is currently undergoing treatment for melanoma that has metastasized to her brain and lungs.
During a recent podcast episode, Mellencamp and guest Dolores Catania discussed GLP-1s, a class of drugs used for weight loss and diabetes. Mellencamp recounted asking her doctor for the medication due to steroid-induced weight gain from her cancer treatment, only to be refused.
Catania, who also planned to take a GLP-1, encouraged Mellencamp to find alternative ways to obtain the drug. The conversation highlighted Mellencamp's resilience and desire to "live her best life" despite her serious health condition.
Mellencamp was first diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in March 2022. By April 2025, her skin cancer had advanced to stage 4, spreading to her brain and lungs. She underwent surgery to remove brain tumors, with subsequent scans showing a decrease in their size. By October 2025, doctors reported no detectable cancer, though she continues immunotherapy and close monitoring.
In February 2026, Mellencamp reflected on the one-year anniversary of being hospitalized for emergency brain surgery. She shared that she went to the ER with what she thought were migraines, only to have surgery for "plum-sized" tumors within 24 hours. She expressed gratitude for her medical team, family, friends, and fan support, urging others to trust their instincts and get checked.
