Season 2 of the Ted prequel series, premiering Thursday, March 5 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Showcase and STACKTV in Canada, is set in 1994. The new season features John Bennett and his best friend Ted navigating high school senior year with even more heightened and hilarious escapades, including Dungeons & Dragons and prank calls.
The latest installment also emphasizes the entire Bennett family, showcasing more bold and funny moments for John's mother, Susan (Alanna Ubach), father, Matty (Scott Grimes), and cousin Blair (Giorgia Whigham). Ubach finds inspiration in Lucille Ball's iconic role in 'I Love Lucy' for her portrayal of Susan.
Susan, a devout Catholic housewife, undergoes significant development this season, even appearing drunk in one episode. Her relationship with her husband Matty is also explored more deeply, highlighting their codependent dynamic. Both Ubach and Grimes share a similar comedic sensibility, channeling influences like Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder to create infectious banter and memorable physical comedy.
