Taylor Swift's Showgirl Reigns Supreme, Tame Impala's Deadbeat Debuts at No. 2

The latest ARIA chart week saw a battle between two musical heavyweights, with Taylor Swift's The Life Of A Showgirl retaining the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for a third straight week. Swift's album has now spent a total of 16 weeks at No. 1, cementing her status as a dominant force in the Australian music scene.

Challenging Swift's reign was Tame Impala's long-awaited new album Deadbeat, which debuted at No. 2 on the national chart. This marks the psychedelic pop project's highest charting album in Australia to date. The album's lead single, "Dracula," also made its debut on the ARIA Singles Chart, entering at No. 40.

Aside from the battle at the top, the latest ARIA charts saw several Australian artists make impressive showings. Ruel, the rising Aussie heartthrob, debuted his third album Kicking My Feet at No. 6, while the indie band The Last Dinner Party entered the top 10 for the first time with their album From The Pyre. Western Australia's The Southern River Band also made their chart debut, opening at No. 16 with Easier Said Than Done.
