George Michael Estate Praises Taylor Swift's "Father Figure" Cover

In a move that has delighted the estate of the late George Michael, pop superstar Taylor Swift has put her own spin on one of the singer's classic hits for her new album. According to a statement released by Michael's team on Thursday, they were thrilled when Swift's team reached out earlier this year about incorporating an interpolation of the 1987 single "Father Figure" into a brand new song of the same title.

After hearing Swift's version, the Michael estate had no hesitation in approving the association between the two acclaimed artists. They believe the "Fortnight" singer's take on the track would have earned the approval of Michael himself, who scored a major hit with "Father Figure" over 35 years ago.
