Summary
- Taylor Swift releases 12th studio album 'The Life of a Showgirl'
- Collaborates with Max Martin and Shellback on soft-rock-meets-pop tracks
- Compares herself to Ophelia from Hamlet in lead single 'The Fate of Ophelia'

In a highly anticipated move, on October 3rd, 2025, global pop icon Taylor Swift released her 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'. The 12-track record sees the singer-songwriter deconstructing her time in the spotlight, including her public relationships, dominating the music scene, and the public's shifting opinion of her.
Swift once again teamed up with her frequent collaborators, producers Max Martin and Shellback, to create a series of soft-rock-meets-pop gems for her fans to dance to this fall. The album opens with its lead single, 'The Fate of Ophelia', in which Swift compares herself to the character Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet, though the pop superstar gets a much happier ending.
The only official collaboration on the album is with fellow pop star Sabrina Carpenter on the final, titular track. However, the late George Michael also makes a subtle appearance, with Swift's song 'Father Figure' interpolating the melody of the Wham! frontman's solo single of the same name.
