Taylor Swift Declines Super Bowl Halftime Show for Fiancé's Dangerous Sport

According to a recent interview, pop star Taylor Swift has declined the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. The 35-year-old singer explained that her decision is primarily due to her fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce, and the high-intensity, dangerous nature of his sport.

"That is violent chess," Swift said. "That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. The whole season I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field. Can you imagine if he's out there every single week putting his life on the line, doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I'm like, 'I wonder what my choreo should be.'"

In the same interview, Swift also discussed her friend Selena Gomez's recent wedding, for which she made a speech without mentioning her own recent engagement. "I got to see her be the most elegant, gorgeous -- not only bride but just -- vision that I've ever seen in my life. I've never seen anything so beautiful as her on her wedding day," Swift said.

Additionally, Swift revealed that her close friend Ed Sheeran learned about her engagement through Instagram, as he "doesn't have a phone that works." The singer explained that she had forgotten to personally notify Sheeran, who is considered "family" to her.
