International sales company Lucky Number has boarded "Any Other Night," the English-language debut of Dutch filmmaker Michiel ten Horn. The movie, which is currently in post-production, stars Tatiana Maslany ("Orphan Black") and Marwan Kenzari ("The Old Guard").
Lucky Number will introduce the project to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market, where they will unveil an exclusive promo reel. "Any Other Night" marks ten Horn's follow-up to his previous film "Fabula," a dark comedy that premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival earlier this year.
The film follows two strangers in Berlin whose lives unexpectedly intertwine over the course of a single night. Maslany plays Maggie, a woman spiraling through emotional turmoil after a recent breakup, while Kenzari stars as Sam, a failed musician turned cab driver. What begins as a routine five-minute ride turns into a wild, chaotic odyssey through the city and the wreckage of their own bad decisions.
Ten Horn described the film as an "anti-romcom" that explores what happens after one has chased their big dreams and realized this isn't "it." He said the movie portrays "wonderfully imperfect, three-dimensional characters that audiences can easily relate to, while taking us on a wild, emotionally charged ride through Berlin at night."
