Summary
- Tarantino is writing a British farce for London's West End.
- The play is anticipated to debut in the fall of 2027.
- It promises door-slamming, mistaken identity, and physical comedy.

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is stepping away from his tenth feature film to pursue a new venture in British theater. He has written an original "old-fashioned British farce" which he hopes to stage in London's West End in the fall of 2027. This production marks a significant departure from his acclaimed filmography, including titles like "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill."
The upcoming play is described as a "door-slamming, trouser-dropping, mistaken identity" comedy, reminiscent of physical farces like "Noises Off" and works by Brian Rix and Ray Cooney. Tarantino's decision to move into theater follows his cancellation of "The Movie Critic" and the handover of directing duties for "The Adventures of Cliff Booth" to David Fincher.
While "The Adventures of Cliff Booth" is slated for release by Netflix this year, Tarantino's focus appears to be on his theatrical ambitions. This move to the stage is not entirely unprecedented, as his 2015 film "The Hateful Eight" was initially conceived as a stage play.
