The casting for the female protagonist in the upcoming mythological epic 'Mahavatar' has reportedly entered a new phase. Industry sources suggest that Tara Sutaria is now being considered for the role opposite Vicky Kaushal, who is slated to portray the character of Parashurama. This film is being directed by Amar Kaushik.
Earlier reports had linked Shraddha Kapoor and Harnaaz Sandhu to the prominent female role. However, recent discussions indicate that Tara Sutaria is also a strong contender. Makers are keen to cast an actor who can effectively complement the larger-than-life world of 'Mahavatar'.
'Mahavatar' is scheduled to commence its principal photography in January 2027. This project represents Vicky Kaushal's second collaboration with producer Dinesh Vijan, following the successful historical drama 'Chhaava,' which was released in 2025.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is also anticipating the release of 'Love & War,' directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which is slated for January 21, 2027. Tara Sutaria was last seen in the action film 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups,' released in August 2026.
