Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski is embracing a dual role as she prepares for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games. Currently serving as a figure skating analyst for the upcoming event, Lipinski also shared a powerful message about balancing her career with motherhood.
Lipinski, a mother to her 2-year-old daughter Georgie, expressed her belief that women should not have to choose between their professional aspirations and family life. She conveyed this sentiment through an Instagram Story post, stating her intention for her daughter to see a mother who actively pursues her dreams while remaining fully engaged in her family.
"I want my daughter to see a mother who chases her dreams and shows up fully for her," Lipinski wrote. The 43-year-old athlete added, "I can do both, in my own way at the same time." Following her figure skating gold medal win in 1998, Lipinski transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a commentator for the Olympic Games starting in 2014. Becoming a mother in 2023 has further fueled her career drive.
