Organic Media Group (OMG), a Taipei-Los Angeles-based production house, has announced plans to create a Chinese-language remake of the hit French comedy series "Call My Agent!" The new version will center on a top Asian talent agency, where a team of savvy and stressed-out agents juggle superstar clients, personal chaos, and industry politics. The original series has spawned international adaptations in some 12 countries.
OMG is targeting the global Chinese-speaking diaspora while rooting the production in Taiwan's entertainment ecosystem. The company sees an opportunity to put a local Taiwanese spin on the format, inviting superstars from across Asia to join the cast for worldwide distribution.
In addition to the "Call My Agent!" remake, OMG has unveiled three other Taiwan-based series in development. "Detective Daji" is a supernatural detective series featuring a murdered detective resurrected by an ancient Fox Demon. "Undertaker" follows a down-on-his-luck misfit who finds meaning working at a Taiwanese funeral home. "Expats: Taiwan -- A Day in the Life" is an unscripted series exploring why expatriates love Taiwan and their contributions beyond teaching English.
