Taiwanese animation director Fish Wang, who won best animated short at the 2023 Sitges Film Festival for his work "Ghost of the Dark Path," is set to return to the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) 2025 with a new project that expands upon the universe of his previous VR animated short "Red Tail" (2022).
The upcoming feature-length film, "Wondering Tales Of Blossmoss," continues Wang's exploration of emotionally charged storytelling. Collaborating with Hong Kong screenwriter Toe Yuen and co-producer Polly Yeung, the project blends elements of fantasy and imagination with the intimacy of personal reflection, delving into themes of memory, loss, and coming-of-age.
At its core, the story poses a universal question: "Does life's trauma lead to growth or become a burden?" The animated world of "Wondering Tales Of Blossmoss" aims to combine humor and visual charm with philosophical undertones, crafting a whimsical yet deeply reflective experience for audiences aged 12 and above.
Currently in early development, the project has been selected for the TCCF Pitching program in the animation category. The team plans to share their creative vision with industry professionals, animation creators, and other festival participants, with the goal of raising international visibility and exploring future co-production opportunities.
