The Taiwanese prison drama "Sunshine Women's Choir" has made history as the highest-grossing local film in Taiwan, earning over NT$545 million by February 14, 2026. Directed by Gavin Lin, the Mandarin-language feature premiered on December 31, 2025. It quickly rose to the top of Taiwan's daily box office and maintained strong performance. The film has seen releases in Singapore and Malaysia, with previews in Hong Kong starting January 17, 2026, and a full theatrical release on March 5, 2026.
Further international distribution is scheduled for March 2026 in Cambodia, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Vietnam's release is tentatively planned for April 2026. The ensemble cast includes Judy Ongg, Chen Yi-Han, Sun Shu-May, Amber An, and Chung Hsin-Ling. Director Lin previously garnered acclaim for "More Than Blue."
