Taapsee Pannu Breaks Silence on Kangana Ranaut Feud

Actress Taapsee Pannu has publicly commented on her ongoing dispute with actor-politician Kangana Ranaut. Pannu stated she has never met Ranaut, either before or after their public exchanges began in 2019 and 2020 during the Bollywood nepotism discussions. This statement prompted a strong reaction from Ranaut, who accused Pannu of disrespecting her parents and upbringing.

In an interview, Pannu explained her perspective, noting that her opinions are a reflection of her upbringing and worldview, similar to Ranaut's. The feud initially escalated in 2019 when Kangana's sister called Pannu a "cheap copy" after Pannu praised a film trailer without naming Kangana. The controversy resurfaced in 2020 amid debates on nepotism in the film industry, with Ranaut labeling Pannu and Swara Bhasker as "B-grade" actors.

Separately, Taapsee Pannu also discussed the possibility of entering politics, stating she is "too honest and vulnerable" for it and wishes to complete more films. She clarified that her interest in political matters stems from being an educated citizen, not from any political ambition.

Pannu is set to star in the revenge drama "Gandhari," scheduled for release on Netflix on September 3. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut's last film appearance was in "Bharat Bhagya Viddhaata" (2026), and she is working on an upcoming psychological thriller with "Thalaivii" director AL Vijay.
