Summary
- Stallone performed two of the most dangerous stunts of his career in 1993's Demolition Man
- One stunt involved a real metal vise that could have torn him apart
- Another stunt had Stallone trapped in a container filled with warm oil, risking drowning

Legendary actor Sylvester Stallone, now 79 years old, has recently opened up about the most dangerous stunts he performed during his action-movie glory days. In a video interview with GQ, Stallone reflected on his iconic screen characters, from Rocky to Rambo, and highlighted the two most harrowing stunts he encountered while filming the 1993 sci-fi action movie Demolition Man.
One stunt involved a "giant claw" that Stallone's character, John Spartan, became trapped in while fighting his co-star Wesley Snipes' character, Simon Phoenix. Stallone explained that the clamps were fully functional, and the powerful hydraulics could have easily torn him apart if something went wrong. "Those things really worked," he said, recalling the risk of the "metal claws" tearing him up.
