Switzerland, a nation renowned for its confectionery, is preparing to launch an expansive chocolate-themed park by 2030. This ambitious project, known as Parc du chocolat Cailler, is being led by Maison Cailler, the country's oldest chocolate brand. An investment of €436.1 million is earmarked for this venture, with the first phase anticipated in Broc, Gruyère.
Spanning 30,000 square metres, the park aims to offer an immersive chocolate experience. Visitors will witness the chocolate-making process within a functional factory, participate in workshops guided by expert chocolatiers, and explore a specialized cacao greenhouse. An additional attraction, a 'flying theatre,' will simulate scenic flights over Switzerland.
The comprehensive destination will include hotels, dining facilities, and convenient access via the Swiss rail network. The park projects attracting 700,000 to 800,000 visitors in its inaugural year, with aspirations to surpass one million annually. Maison Cailler, part of the Nestlé group since 1929, already draws significant visitor numbers to its existing facilities.
