Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson, portrayed by Shemar Moore, returns to lead an experimental S.W.A.T. unit in the new series, S.W.A.T. Exiles. The spinoff, premiering September 25 on Starz, picks up two years after Hondo's forced retirement from the LAPD.
This new unit comprises talented but unconventional young officers who have faced challenges integrating into the department. Hondo must navigate clashing personalities and a generational divide to forge them into a cohesive team. The stakes escalate as he uncovers a potential mole and a conspiracy reaching high into the LAPD and mayor's office.
Moore describes S.W.A.T. Exiles as darker and grittier, yet still recognizably S.W.A.T. The first season will consist of 10 episodes, with new installments airing weekly on Fridays at 12 a.m. ET. Notably, the series was renewed for a second season in August 2026, before its premiere.
