Summary
- Sarandon states advocacy for Gaza impacted her career negatively.
- Her agency dropped her for demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.
- She now primarily works in Europe due to Hollywood challenges.

Susan Sarandon, known for 'Thelma & Louise,' has shared that her advocacy for Gaza has drastically altered her career path. In a press conference in Barcelona, she explained that her agency dropped her in November 2023 after she participated in a pro-Palestine rally and made controversial remarks about Jewish Americans.
Sarandon stated that since late 2023, it became nearly impossible for her to secure roles in the American film industry, especially anything connected to Hollywood. She has since found agents in England and Italy and has been working there, though she noted that some directors were still advised against hiring her.
She now primarily takes on roles in independent films in Europe. Sarandon also commended Spain and its government for their vocal stance on the situation in Gaza, contrasting it with the perceived silence or different approach in the United States.
While Sarandon has appeared in a few projects released by major American studios, these were filmed before her agency dropped her in late 2023. She continues to seek opportunities in independent European cinema.
