Grode spent decades as a leading advocate for creators, securing essential contractual protections that are still in use today. Her clients included notable figures such as Matt Groening, creator of "The Simpsons," and artist Judy Chicago.
She also authored "The Visual Artist's Manual," an influential guide for artists navigating their rights and careers. Grode was instrumental in securing a permanent home for Judy Chicago's "The Dinner Party" at the Brooklyn Museum.
A passionate feminist, Grode also dedicated herself to advancing women's rights and the arts. She retired in 2021 from Katten Muchin LLP, where she co-chaired the national Entertainment and Media Department.
