The film, which entered its second week, had a brief midweek slowdown but bounced back strongly over the weekend, regaining pace and drawing packed crowds across regions.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film minted ₹22 crore net in India on Day 9, slightly higher than the previous day's ₹21.15 crore. The makers have also claimed that 'Kantara Chapter 1' has entered the ₹500 crore club worldwide, with its gross earnings continuing to rise.
The film's performance has been particularly noteworthy in the Kannada market, where it witnessed an overall 42.58% occupancy on Friday, with a sharp rise from morning to night shows. Bengaluru led with 972 shows and a solid 40.50% occupancy, while smaller regions like Kundapura (84.25%) and Tumakuru (74.75%) also recorded impressive turnout.
The film's appeal has extended beyond the South, with the Hindi-speaking markets seeing 15.65% overall occupancy on Friday. Mumbai led with 755 shows, followed by Delhi NCR's 835 shows at 13% occupancy. The Tamil and Malayalam versions have also shown strong numbers, contributing to the film's robust all-India collections.
