In just 12 days, Karuppu garnered 256.85 crore globally, with 187.85 crore from India and 69 crore from overseas. This impressive collection has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal, which stood at 253.45 crore. The film's strong word-of-mouth and steady pace indicate it is poised to become Suriya's first 300 crore grosser.
Directed by RJ Balaji and starring Trisha Krishnan, Karuppu was produced by Dream Warrior Pictures on a budget of 130 crore. Its success positions it to enter Kollywood's all-time top 10 highest-grossing films, overtaking Varisu's 299.2 crore collection.
