Classical Singer: Timeless Riyaaz Trumps Trends

Classical vocalist Surabhi Dashputra maintains that core musical principles like sur, taal, and riyaaz are eternally valuable, regardless of contemporary trends. She states, "My training keeps me grounded" amidst the fast-paced modern music scene. Her time performing in the UK exposed her to diverse musical styles, fostering a global perspective on how audiences connect with sound.

Dashputra identifies patience and visibility as significant challenges in the music industry, noting that talent alone is insufficient without opportune moments. However, she finds encouragement in the widespread reach of her music, which is now appreciated in over 100 countries. Looking forward, she aims to explore innovative fusions of Indian folk music and contemporary devotional genres, seeking to blend raw emotion with modern production and spiritual freshness.
