A new Peacock series, "Superfakes," is set to delve into the world of illicit trade and hidden lives. Liu is slated to star as a luxury counterfeit dealer operating out of Chinatown, who seeks to fund a suburban lifestyle for her family.
Her character navigates a dangerous black-market underworld, encountering figures like Henry, a complex and paranoid gangster portrayed by Nguyen. Henry is depicted as a survivor of decades of crime, embodying a mix of ruthlessness and insecurity.
"Superfakes" boasts a notable production team, including executive producers Josh and Benny Safdie. The series hails from writer and producer Ju, known for "Beef" and "Poker Face." A24 and UCP are also involved in its production.
Nguyen's role continues his recent US comeback, following appearances in "Dope Thief," "Blade of the 47 Ronin," and the Sundance film "The Accidental Getaway Driver."
