Sunny Deol Reteams with Rajkumar Santoshi for Partition Drama 'Lahore 1947'

In September 2025, actor Sunny Deol is preparing to resume shooting for director Rajkumar Santoshi's upcoming period drama 'Lahore 1947'. The film, produced by Aamir Khan, is currently in production and has undergone some changes based on the producer's feedback.

After watching the first cut of the film, Aamir Khan, the producer, suggested some revisions to the team. Sunny Deol and Santoshi have agreed to implement these changes, and the upcoming shoot schedule will focus on filming the newly envisioned sequences in real locations across Punjab.

The shoot is set to commence on October 10, 2025, and is expected to last for 12 days. When the movie initially went on floors in February 2024, the makers were aiming for a 2025 release. However, after discussing the film's progress, the team unanimously decided to prioritize quality over a quick turnaround.

'Lahore 1947' explores the emotional journey of people caught in the turmoil of India's partition. The film also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles, though the upcoming shoot will primarily involve Sunny Deol, as the other primary cast members have already completed their portions.
