Actor Suniel Shetty is exploring a new venture, engaging in negotiations for the adaptation rights of the true-crime book "Black Scorpion: To Hell and Back." This narrative focuses on Shyam Kishore Garikapati, a prominent underworld figure in Mumbai during the late 1980s and 1990s, who later transitioned into a businessman.
Recent reports suggest Shetty's deep interest in the book's content, with a possibility of him playing the lead role of Garikapati. This adaptation would mark a significant on-screen return for the actor to the crime drama genre. The book's narrative is made more compelling by Garikapati's transformation, especially after meeting former top cop Kiran Bedi in Tihar Jail.
Co-author Joshua has confirmed Shetty's fascination with the book's synopsis and his pursuit of adaptation rights. While negotiations are ongoing, official confirmation regarding the rights acquisition and casting decisions is still pending from Shetty or his representatives. Further details about collaborators, platforms, and timelines are expected as discussions progress.
