This December, UNESCO and the Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage (KSCH) are joining forces to present the SundeRhythm Festival. This two-day event, set in Sajnekhali, Sundarbans, aims to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural tapestry of West Bengal.
The festival will highlight the unique living heritage of the Sundarbans communities, featuring a special Banabibi Pala performance. Attendees can also immerse themselves in the diverse folk traditions of Bengal, with live showcases of Chhau, Jhumur, Baul, and other captivating art forms.
Beyond performances, the SundeRhythm Festival will provide a platform for local artisans to exhibit and sell their exquisite handicrafts. This initiative, part of UNESCO's broader Rural Craft and Cultural Hubs project, supports cultural diversity and empowers grassroots artists.
