The Sundance Institute has announced the 10 selected filmmakers for its latest Ignite x Adobe Fellowship. These emerging talents were chosen from over 1,100 applicants. The fellowship aims to support storytellers aged 18 to 25 through professional development and community building.
The program begins with an Ignite Lab at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, from June 14-19. Monthly webinars will follow, focusing on creative and professional growth. Fellows will reconvene for a special program at the 2027 Sundance Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado.
Each fellow will receive a $5,000 artist grant and a year of complimentary Adobe Creative Cloud access. This initiative, a partnership with Adobe, aims to provide crucial tools and funding to aspiring filmmakers. Since 2015, previous fellows have seen 19 projects screen at Sundance, with many receiving awards.
This year's cohort includes diverse voices from various backgrounds, such as Simisolaoluwa Akande from Nigeria and British, Aicha Cherif from New York City, and Blake Knecht from Las Vegas. The fellowship also recently expanded to include a short film fund for alumni.
