The trailer for the second season of Apple TV+'s "Sugar" has been released, previewing Colin Farrell's return as private investigator John Sugar.
Premiering on June 19, the new season will see Sugar take on a missing persons case involving a boxer's brother. As the investigation deepens into a city-wide conspiracy, Sugar must confront his own ethics and determine how far he will go to do what is right.
Notably, the trailer and promotional materials largely skirt the significant plot twist from the show's first season, revealed in May 2024. In the season one finale, it was disclosed that John Sugar is an alien, possessing blue skin and distinct cranial markings, a secret he keeps while searching for his sister on Earth.
Season two features a cast including Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and Shea Whigham. Sam Catlin serves as showrunner for the upcoming season, executive producing alongside Farrell, Audrey Chon, Simon Kinberg, Scott Greenberg, and Chip Vucelich. Mark Protosevich created the series.
