Actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi recently reflected on the 32nd anniversary of the iconic film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. She described Shah Rukh Khan as being very different in his early acting days, in contrast to his later work. Krishnamoorthi revealed that acting was not her initial ambition, as she always identified as a singer and had aspirations of winning a Grammy.
She explained that she was recommended for the role by her director and auditioned multiple times before being selected. Krishnamoorthi shared a close friendship with director Kundan Shah, whom she described as her 'shrink.' She also noted that while she enjoyed working with both Shah Rukh Khan and Deepak Tijori, Tijori was more easygoing.
The film's enduring popularity, Krishnamoorthi believes, is due to 'Kismat' (fate). She candidly admitted that she quit acting for marriage soon after the film, having thrown away opportunities because she wasn't ambitious as an actor. Looking back, she wouldn't change anything about her portrayal of Anna, missing her past innocence and naiveté.
