Stumble: NBC's New Mockumentary Sitcom Premieres Next Week

In exactly one week, NBC will premiere Stumble, one of the only two new sitcoms debuting this fall. The mockumentary series follows the world of junior college cheerleading and features a talented cast including Jenn Lyon, SNL's Taran Killam, and Kristin Chenoweth.

Stumble will air on Friday nights, paired with the successful sitcom Happy's Place, starring Reba McEntire. The show's co-showrunners, siblings Jeff and Liz Astrof, are excited about the primetime slot, calling it "flattering" and "thrilling." The Astrofs have an impressive track record, having produced hit comedies like The King of Queens, 2 Broke Girls, and Trial & Error.

While the landscape for new sitcoms on network TV is limited, Happy's Place has proven that audiences are still seeking laughs on the small screen. Stumble aims to offer a fresh perspective, focusing on the often-overlooked world of junior college cheerleading and the motley crew of athletes who strive to win a championship.
