StudioCanal, a subsidiary of the Canal+ Group, has significantly increased its footprint in Italy by acquiring a 51 percent controlling stake in Lucky Red. This Rome-based company is a key player in Italian distribution, production, and sales.
Lucky Red also boasts a strong television production division, with credits including "Belcanto" for RAI and Netflix, and "Christian" for Sky. The company was originally established in Rome in 1987 by Andrea Occhipinti, who will remain at the helm, managing the remaining 49 percent ownership.

The two companies also jointly operate the sales entity True Colours with Indigo Film.
