Detective drama fans have reason to rejoice as the BBC announces the upcoming series, 'The Running Grave,' the seventh installment of the acclaimed Strike franchise. Based on J.K. Rowling's bestselling novels, the new season follows detectives Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott as they take on a disturbing case for the Edensor family.
The Edensors enlist Strike and Robin to discredit the Universal Humanitarian Church, a religious cult that has ensnared their son, Will, and drained his trust fund. This powerful organization, led by Jonathan Wace, uses celebrity endorsements and aggressive legal tactics to silence critics while operating under a charitable facade.
To unravel the truth, Robin goes undercover at the cult's remote headquarters in Norfolk, Chapman Farm, confronting psychological and physical duress. Meanwhile, Strike gathers insights from former members. The investigation delves into the cult's twisted mythology, centering on the Drowned Prophet, Daiyu, as the detectives navigate dangerous and uncharted territory.
