George Clarke: From YouTube Room to Strictly Ballroom

George Clarke, a participant in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, has opened up about his journey from YouTube influencer to ballroom dancer. His father, Sean Clarke, is the managing director of Aardman Animations, the studio behind beloved characters like Wallace and Gromit. Initially, Clarke's family found his online career difficult to comprehend, but they have since become avid supporters.

Clarke, who started posting videos in December 2019, has since garnered over 3 million followers across various platforms and co-hosts a successful podcast. His dedication to his family was evident when he performed an emotional routine dedicated to his mother, who is currently battling cancer. He shared that his mother remains positive despite her health challenges.

Beyond his family, Clarke has also formed an unlikely friendship with Strictly host Claudia Winkleman. He describes their interactions as "utter nonsense" and "sarcastic remarks back and forth." Both Winkleman and co-host Tess Daly have been noted for their genuine support and warmth towards the contestants.
