Richard Osman, a former creative director at Endemol UK, has refuted rumors that Alan Carr and Amanda Holden were offered the co-hosting position for Strictly Come Dancing. Carr and Holden had previously stated they declined the role.
Osman explained on his podcast, 'The Rest is Entertainment,' that the suggestions were 'nonsense' and the job was never formally offered to the duo. He indicated that any communication with their representatives was likely preliminary and not a concrete offer.
Long-time presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from Strictly Come Dancing in October 2025, creating a significant hosting vacancy. The BBC has reportedly not yet finalized their decision on who will succeed them.
