Vecna Actor Wanted Heroic Plea

Jamie Campbell Bower, who portrayed Vecna, revealed his original concept for the antagonist's final scene in Stranger Things. He had envisioned Vecna pleading for his life as Joyce wielded an axe, a moment inspired by the character's relationship in the stage play "Stranger Things: The First Shadow." This poignant plea ultimately did not make it into the series finale.

Instead, the show depicted Eleven impaling Vecna, followed by Joyce decapitating him, intercut with flashbacks of his torment. Bower's approach to the role was notably methodical, drawing inspiration from both the series and the stage production. "Stranger Things" is available to stream in its entirety on Netflix.
