Stranger Things season 5 is nearing its epic conclusion, with Volume 2 scheduled for release on December 25, 2025. This installment will comprise episodes 5 through 7, leading up to the series finale. For a chance to see the final adventure on the big screen, a limited theatrical release is planned from December 31, 2025, to January 1, 2026.
The current season, set in the fall of 1987, finds Hawkins under military occupation due to rifts to the Upside Down. Main characters united to infiltrate the Upside Down and confront Vecna. However, their plans were complicated when Vecna kidnapped Holly Wheeler, Mike and Nancy's younger sister, and wounded their parents.
Meanwhile, Jim Hopper and Eleven became stranded in the Upside Down, discovering a military base. They learned the military was using Eight, another individual with powers, as their weapon against Vecna. Back in Hawkins, the remaining group's plan to protect children failed as Demogorgons attacked, dragging all targets to the Upside Down. Will discovered his own powers, using them to defeat the Demogorgons.
